Kappa Delta Sorority honored 51 Minnesota alumnae at the Twin Cities Kappa Delta Alumnae Chapter’s White Rose Luncheon to be held at the Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington on Saturday, May 5, including Maureen Arenson of Annandale.
Eighteen of Minnesota Kappa Deltas were from outside the Twin Cities area. Twin Cities alumnae president Elise Mullen of Eden Prairie conducted the Circle Ceremony for each of the four Circles of Sisterhood and present a white rose to each new member. National Kappa Delta sends a certificate of Circle membership also.
Kappa Delta’s Diamond Circle represents 75 years of Sisterhood. Jane Griffin Schmelz of Mapleton, an initiate of Sigma Beta Chapter at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 1937, became a new Diamond Circle member.
Arenson, an initiate of Sigma Psi Chapter of Kappa Delta at North Dakota State University in 1952, was welcomed into the Emerald Circle celebrating 60 years of sisterhood.
Mary Golliet Van Gergen of Buffalo, from Alpha Gamma Chapter at Coe College, Jackie Peirson Anfinson of New London, an initiate of Pi Chapter at Lincoln, Nebraska, and Kathleen Hjelle Martens of Willmar, from Sigma Psi Chapter at North Dakota State University, were inducted into the White Rose Circle of Kappa Delta commemorating 50 years of membership.
Joining the Nautilus Circle of Kappa Delta celebrating 25 years of Sisterhood was Kelley Pederson Reed of Rockford. She pledged Kappa Delta at Lambda Chapter at Northwestern University.
