Adoption Support Group
Tuesday, April 11: An Adoption Support Group meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Monticello Community Center. Legion post meeting
Tuesday, April 11: American Legion Post 131 was scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. at the post in Maple Lake. The auxiliary meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, and the Sons of Legion group next meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13. New members are welcome.
Genealogy help
Tuesday and Wednesday, April 11 to 12: Make an appointment to receive help getting started or continuing to build your family tree at the Annandale library. A local volunteer with genealogical expertise will be on hand to assist visitors one-on-one. Call the library at 274-8448 to make an appointment during regular library hours.

Wednesday, April 12: The next meeting of the Annandale Area Chamber of Commerce will be at 11:30 a.m. at Southbrook. All members and prospective members are invited.

Thursday, April 13: Ready to start your Norwegian research but don’t know where to start? Join Wright County Historical Society reference librarian Kay Nordberg for a fact-filled workshop on starting a Norwegian genealogy from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Wright County Heritage Center, 2001 Hwy. 25 N in Buffalo. This session is free but space is limited; RSVPs are required by calling 763-682-7323 or going to www.wrighthistory.org.

Friday, April 14: Get help setting up an email account, doing a basic web search, using Word or Excel on your PC and more between 9 and 11 a.m. at the Annandale library. An experienced volunteer will be on hand to answer tech questions. Walk-in appointments are available, or book a time in advance by calling the library at 274-8448.

Saturday, April 15: South Haven’s Easter egg hunt starts at 9 a.m. at the city park. Annandale’s hunt starts at 10 a.m. at Municipal Park for ages 12 and under.

Parkinson’s support
Tuesday, April 18: If you or anyone you know is 60 or under and has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, you are welcome to join a group meeting the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Saron Lutheran Church in Big Lake. Specific topics are scheduled along with an open forum. Caregivers welcome. No children please. Call Camille Johnson, 763-350-7401, for more information.
WoW van visit
Thursday, April 20: The Wellness on Wheels van will be at Annandale City Hall from 2 to 6 p.m. The Wright County Human Services van provides a number of health services and screenings at no or reduced costs, including immunizations. WH Annual Meeting
Thursday, April 20: Wright Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. at its Rockford headquarters. A pork chop dinner will begin at 4:30. Other events are planned. See the ad on page 1B.

Saturday, April 22: This year marks the 47th anniversary.
‘Snake, Rattle and Roll’
Saturday, April 22: Emily Roberts of Snake Discovery will present "Snake, Rattle and Roll" at 10 a.m. at the Lake Maria State Park trail center. This program focuses on native reptiles. A total of 13 different snakes, turtles and lizards will be on hand, and audience members get to touch, hold and even feed some of them. The program is free, but there is a park vehicle entrance fee for those without an annual permit. Annual permits for all state parks are available at the park office.
Starry Stonewort Summit
Saturday, April 22: All are welcome and encouraged to attend a free summit from 1 to 3 p.m. at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, 10 4th Ave. S. The event is sponsored by the Greater Lake Sylvia Association and the Koronis Lake Association. Experts will present the latest information on starry stonewort, what its presence means for lakes and the latest science to control its impact. The keynote speaker is Dr. John Rodgers from Clemson University. Rodgers has a Ph.D. in biology and aquatic toxicology and is a national leader in terms of starry stonewort.
Intro to yoga
Saturday, April 22: Green Lotus – Annandale will host an Intro to Yoga workshop from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Additional options to take the class are on Saturday, April 29, and Saturday, May 13.
Pancake breakfast
Sunday, April 23: Minnesota Pioneer Park will host its annual pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All-you-can-eat pancakes and other breakfast items. There is a fee for the meal, but there is no gate admission charge. Bottled maple syrup will also be offered for sale.
Intro to meditation
Tuesday, April 25: Green Lotus – Annandale will host an Intro to Meditation workshop from 7 to 8:30 p.m. An additional class will be held on Tuesday, May 9.
Red Cross blood drive

Spring Tonic
Friday, April 28: The Buffalo Hospital Foundation’s seventh annual Spring Tonic returns to Annandale at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 28, at Classic Hall. The evening includes a cocktail party, jazz, a focus on gifts in action and live auction at 9, and grand prize drawings and a raffle drawing for a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 at 10:30. Earth Day 5K
Saturday, April 29: The Annandale Key Club and Kiwanis are joining together to host an Earth Day 5K. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the 5K starts at 9 a.m. at Annandale High School. There is a cost to run, and participants receive a T-shirt.
Green Touch day
Saturday, April 29: Wright-Hennepin Electric and volunteers will help prepare Lake Maria State Park for the summer season from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will be raking, working on trails and planting trees. Lunch will be provided. Registration is needed; please call the Lake Maria park office to register at 763-878-2325. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult or get prior approval from the park manager.
