■ Annandale School District 876 was scheduled to host Back to School Day from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4. Families of K-12 children could receive information, purchase items and complete all necessary forms for the upcoming 2014-15 school year.
■ The Cardinal Athletic Foundation, in partnership with Lundeen Brothers Ford, was scheduled to host the ‘Drive 4UR School’ fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Annandale High School. All were invited to get behind the wheel of a new Ford vehicle. For every test-drive taken, Ford Motor Company donated $20 to the high school, for a total of up to $6,000.
■ The Annandale library was scheduled to host Sunshine story time from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4. The event included stories, songs and a fun craft for children age 3 to 8.
■ National Night Out was scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4. Annandale police and firefighters were expected to visit Eastview from 6 to 7 p.m., the city park from 7 to 8 p.m. and Southbrook from 8 to 9 p.m.
■ Annandale students in grades 7-12 planning to participate in a fall sport needed to attend the fall sports meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the high school with their parents. ■ Bethlehem United Church of Christ, 400 County Road 37 NE in Maple Lake, is hosting its annual pie and ice cream social from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Music will be provided by the Annandale Community Band at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
■ The Annandale Improvement Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, for its annual picnic fundraiser in the lower level at the Annandale Municipal Park pavilion. Members are encouraged to bring guests. Lawn games and meeting precede the kayak races. An awards ceremony follows during the luncheon. Donations this month are for the Emily Program – a program providing personalized care for individuals struggling with eating disorders and related problems. Reservations for the luncheon must have been made by Monday, Aug. 3.
■ The Annandale Kiwanis Club will meet at noon on Thursday, Aug. 6, in the lower level at Southbrook. Paul Hansen will discuss the function of the Minnesota Lions Vision Foundation. All are invited.
■ Country Chevrolet in Annandale is hosting a parking lot party from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7. Burgers will be served from 5:30 to 8:30, and Mitch Gordon and the Unleaded Band will provide live music. Bring a chair and your dancing shoes.
■ Kimball Days runs from Friday, Aug. 7, through Sunday, Aug. 9. The community celebration includes fire department waterball on Friday, games, a kiddie parade and street dance on Saturday and a 2 p.m. parade on Sunday.
■ The Annandale Farmers Market runs from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 8, at City Hall Square. The market is held every Saturday until Oct. 4.
■ The first Annandale Bean Bag Tournament will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Annandale Municipal Park. There is an entry fee with 100 percent payout to winners. Register the day of the tournament at noon or call Dave at 320-493-5572.
■ The Annandale Art Crawl will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. downtown on Saturday, Aug. 8. Businesses will host a variety of artisans, musicians and even a magician. ■ Lake Union Covenant Church will host its pie and ice cream social from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9. The church is located at 74526 CSAH 19 in South Haven. Barbecues, pie and ice cream will be served. The event is sponsored by the women of the Lake Union Covenant Church.
■ The 66th annual Cokato Corn Carnival runs from Monday, Aug. 10, through Wednesday, Aug. 12. There is a parade at about 6:20 p.m. on Monday following a 6 p.m. kiddie parade, and the carnival opens after the parade. The Miss Cokato coronation takes place at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

■ The 38th annual Fiddlers Festival will take place on Sunday, Aug. 16, at Minnesota Pioneer Park. Gates open at 10 a.m., a pork chop meal will be available at 11 a.m., the County Line Square Dancers will be on hand at noon and the fiddle contest begins at 2 p.m. Contestants can enter the contest from 1 to 1:45 p.m. There is no fee to enter the contest, but there is a cost for admission.
