Green Lotus set to open in Annandale

Elizabeth Cabalka, an Annandale-area resident since 1995, will open an integrative healing and yoga center at 700 Norway Drive, Suite No. 105, in Annandale on Friday, April 21.

The 1,900-square-foot facility, next to O’Brothers Wine and Spirits, will offer yoga, meditation and other classes, therapeutic massage, energy healing and bodywork, counseling, infrared sauna sessions and workshops and events.

Cabalka is the sole proprietor of Green Lotus – Annandale and the second licensee of Green Lotus Group, based in the Twin Cities. Other facilities are in Lakeville, Eden Prairie and Mendota Heights.

During a long and productive career in the high-tech industry, Cabalka became interested in integrative healing and completed yoga teacher training at Green Lotus in 2015.

An author and lecturer, Cabalka has written three books: "Wednesdays at the Fluff ‘n Fold – A Caregiver’s Oasis," "The Circles of Love Collection," and "Yoga Expression Spirit – Tools for Authentic Living."

"Integrative healing, working alongside Western medicine, greatly can improve and bolster our health in body, mind, and spirit," Cabalka said. "Community-based integrative healings centers are essential to delivering these natural healing modalities throughout the state. I am thrilled to bring this concept to the wonderful Annandale area."

Green Lotus – Annandale has one large yoga studio, treatment rooms, a dry infrared sauna, and a gathering space with a lending library where students and clients can wait for a class or appointment, read and rest, or just enjoy a cup of tea.

Upon opening, Green Lotus staff also will include:

■ Robin Davidson of Annandale, yoga teacher and Thai Yoga Bodywork practitioner

■ Jennifer Storms of Monticello, yoga teacher

■ Shalynn Reid of Clearwater, yoga teacher

■ Kelly Simonette of Maple Lake, therapeutic massage therapist

Several additional teachers and healers will be joining the staff in the coming weeks.

There are two free events coming up at the facility.

■ Intro to Yoga workshop, especially for beginners from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, April 22, 29 and May 13.

■ Intro to Meditation workshop from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, April 25 and May 9.

Participants can sign up for these and other services online at www.greenlotusyogactr.com, by emailing annandale@greenlotusyogactr.com or by calling the center at 320-261-5177.

Grand-opening events are planned for the weekend of June 2-4. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to stop in.

"Annandale has given me so much," Cabalka said. "Now I am able to give back to our community and am excited to do so."
