Republican Michael Holmstrom Jr. of Buffalo defeated Democrat Louis McNutt Tuesday, Nov. 4, by a comfortable margin in the special Minnesota Senate District 29 election that became necessary following the July death of longtime Senator Bruce Anderson of Buffalo.
