
In the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, Wayne Edward Tobolt passed away at home in West Saint Paul, Minnesota surrounded by family. His death was a result of pneumonia induced by his dementia. Wayne was 81 years old. Wayne was born in his farmhouse in Ashby, Minnesota on May 11, 1941. He was the second son born to Lyle and Edna Tobolt. He attended Ashby High School and served in the U.S. Navy. During a trip home from his service, Wayne met Betty by chance at a dance in Elizabeth, Minnesota. They quickly fell in love and were married later the same year. They built a life in South Saint Paul, raising three children. They retired in Annandale, to spend time on Cedar Lake. Wayne’s many titles included veteran, farmer, handyman, avid fisherman, and hunter at the family farm. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Lyle Walter and Edna Elena; and baby sister. Wayne is survived by his wife Betty; brother Roger (Corrine); three children Ann (Steve Knutson) Hepola, David (Suzy) Tobolt, and Darren (Wendy Underwood) Tobolt; three grandchildren Elena (Tony) Procaccini, Emily (Cody) Larson, and Sophia (Luis) Jaime; and three great-grandchildren Molly, Luis Jr., and Leo. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 11 a..m. with visitation one hour prior, at Roselawn Cemetery Chapel, 803 Larpenteur Ave W, Roseville. Internment is at Roselawn Cemetery.
