Clinton M. Olson, age 81, of South Haven, formerly of Burnsville, died suddenly of a heart attack on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, while hunting with friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale with Pastor Todd Nelsen officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Annandale. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Nov. 17 at the church. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home website. Clinton Melvin Olson was born June 21, 1941, in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Clarence and Elizabeth (Brown) Olson. He grew up in Springfield, Minnesota. On Feb. 20, 1960, Clint was united in marriage to Karen Bishir at Springfield United Methodist Church. They started their family in Richfield, prior to moving to Burnsville in 1969. Clint worked in a machine shop in Minneapolis before purchasing and operating David Olson Sales, a machine tool supplier. In 1974, Clint also began farming in South Haven. He had a hand in numerous real estate developments, including Southbrook Golf Course in 1997. Clint and Karen moved permanently to South Haven in 2009. Clint was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale and a former member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis. Clint enjoyed sales, snowmobiling, farming, hunting, fishing in Alaska, and watching baseball, NASCAR and his grandkids sporting events. His care and kindness for his family and friends will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Kimberly (Rick) Hauch of Brooklyn Park and Holly (Brian) Peterson of South Haven; daughter-in-law, Leslie Olson of Apple Valley; grandchildren, Tessa Schatteman, Toryn Hambright, Tristyn Hassani, Clara, Brooke and Megan Peterson, and Caleb Hauch; brothers, Ronald (Sylvia) Olson of Cottage Grove, Curtis (Judy) Olson of South Haven, and Gary (Linda) Olson of Clitherall; sisters, Karen (John) Rafinski of The Villages, Florida and Mavis (Stan) Brehm of Plymouth; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Scott Olson. The casket bearers will be Rick Hauch, Brian Peterson, Tim Greene, Steve Hall, Kurt Schmidt and Dan Olson.
