Luke Sufka, died at the age of 34 from unknown causes in his Loring Park, Minneapolis, apartment early February 2023. Luke was an artist and supportive friend until the end, even throughout his most difficult struggles. His fabulous personality gained him many friends throughout his life and he was never afraid to be himself. In his younger years, he worked hard to eventually earn his black belt in Tae Kwan Do, winning two bronze medals in the Junior Olympics. During his time in high school, at Annandale High, he worked behind the scenes in the theater, made many fantastic works of art, and gained a love of photography. Luke also learned at this time that he was great with a sewing machine, making a flawless pink prom dress for one of his best friends. After high school, Luke was so excited to move away from his rural Clearwater home to Minneapolis with friends. He went to college for photography and again later to further his interest in architecture. Luke was forever excited to learn new artistic ways to express himself, his most recent being nail art. He always had a fun, new hair idea and wasn’t afraid to bleach his hair into oblivion to try out a different color. Anytime anyone asked his advice on anything hair, makeup, or skincare related he was there with an answer. Luke spent most of his adult life in Minneapolis, however he pressed pause on his life to move out to Sacramento, California, for half a year. During that time he had, what he described as, the most incredible experience of his life; getting a front row, uncensored view of the birth of his best friend’s daughter, Catherine. He spent the rest of his time in California being a nanny and uncle to her while enjoying the nice weather until moving back to Minneapolis. It was around this time when he met Leo, who he often said was the love of his life. In the last years of his life, Luke was working on finishing his degree in drafting. He had a few very close friends which he spoke to often and knew he was loved, without judgment, by them dearly. A memorial for Luke is currently being planned by his mother, Joyce, for a later date, to be announced, in the spring.
