John ‘JP’ Pelzer

John “JP” Pelzer, age 82, of South Haven, died Monday, June 12, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Visitation began at noon, followed by a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 19, at Kimball Christian Church in Kimball with Pastor Chris Chambers officiating. Burial followed at Immanuel Luthern Cemetery in French Lake Township. John Ruldolph Pelzer was born June 22, 1940 in St. Augusta to Rudolf and Frances (Holthaus) Pelzer. He grew up in St. Augusta, attended high school in Kimball, and lived his entire life in central Minnesota. On Sept. 8, 1975, John was united in marriage to LaVerne Olson Bach in Watertown, North Dakota. JP worked as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed taking trips to the casino and working on lawn mowers, tractors and old cars. Most of all, he loved to spend time with family. Honest John’s sense of humor and wit will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, LaVerne; children, Brad “Sword” Bach of Annandale, Lonny (Sheryl) Bach of South Haven, Jeff Bach of Annandale, Tammy Bach of Waite Park, and Theron “Terry” (Susan) Bach of Fairhaven; grandchildren, Zachary Bach, Rochelle Nordberg, and Erin Bach; great-grandchild, Sadie Nordberg; sisters, Bernice (Andy) Witschen and Marlene (Gary) Laudenbach; sister-in-law, Theresa Pelzer; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Suzie Pelzer; grandson Nate Davids; son-in-law Randy Davids; siblings, Frank Pelzer, Luella Klaverkamp, Adeline Laudenbach, Ruth Toenjes, Ed Pelzer, Alice Ross, Beatrice Neu and Eugene Pelzer.
