Mary E. Worden

Mary E. Worden, age 83, of South Haven, died Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at her home on Lake Marie. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 21, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale with visitation one hour prior to the service. Fr. Kevin Magner will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery. Mary Ellen Fobbe was born July 7, 1940, in Maple Lake to Roy and Ethel (Smith) Fobbe. She grew up in Maple Lake, graduating from Maple Lake High School with the Class of 1958. On Aug. 30, 1958, she was united in marriage to Lee Worden at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. They lived in St. Peter, Litchfield and Annandale. They loved the lake, living on Lake Sylvia from 1979 to 1992, and on Lake Marie since 1992. Mary was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. She enjoyed being involved in her church, riding horse, her flower gardens and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her children, Michael of Litchfield, Vicki of South Haven, Ronald of Appleton and Joseph (Iris) of Albany, New York; grandchildren, Brittany, Justin, Logan, Jakob, Megan, Kathryn and Joey; great-grandchildren, Van, Tosh, Charlotte, Bennet, Theo and Alyson; sisters and brother, Marge (Ted, Jr.) Latour, Bob (Michelle) Fobbe, Barb Menth and Lori (Bob) Bruns, all of Maple Lake; brother-in-law, Don Purcell of Maple Lake; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Patty Purcell; infant twin sisters; and brother-in-law, Mark Menth. The casket bearers will be Brian Tomes, Justin Worden, Logan Worden, Joey Worden, Jakob Worden and Erik Loew. Tosh Tomes will serve as honorary casket bearer.
