Darrell M. Langager, age 79, of South Haven, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at St. Cloud Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with Rev. Todd Nelsen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will follow at Grace Southside Cemetery, Annandale.
Darrell Merlin Langager was born Dec. 28, 1943, in Veblen, South Dakota to Merlin and Ruth (Lee) Langager. He grew up in Veblen, graduating with the Class of 1961 from Veblen High School. On May 23, 1969, Darrell was united in marriage to Linda Kay Sorenson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. They made their home in Bloomington where they lived for many years before moving to South Haven in 1995. Darrell worked for Hennepin County as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 1998 after 25 years of employment with the county. Darrell enjoyed hunting as well as attending to his gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Heath Langager of Rockford and Jon (Amy)
Langager of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Jonothan, Mitchel (Hanna), Rachael, Logan, and Abraham; and great grandson, Merlin; sisters, Barbara Bisson (Pete Byam) of Mesa, Arizona, Jaclyn Lutgen (Douglas Jenkins) of Mesa, Arizona; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Ruth Langager; and brothers, Harlis and Larry Langager.
Darrell’s sons will serve as urn bearers.
