Nancy E. Petersen

Nancy E. Petersen, age 72, died on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Annandale Care Center with family by her side.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. with a Remembrance Service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Lampi Auction located at 9141 64th Street NW, Annandale.  Please bring a memory of Nancy to share. A meal and refreshments will be served.

Nancy Elizabeth Cassellius was born on Aug. 2, 1951 in St. Cloud to Dolores (Connick) and Howard Cassellius. She grew up in Annandale and graduated with the Annandale class of 1969. Nancy was united in marriage to David Petersen on May 11, 1985.

Nancy was the oldest of eight siblings and always considered herself the oldest, the biggest and the best. She was the life of the party and was always up for an adventure.  Nancy enjoyed bowling, golfing, meeting with her Tuesday afternoon ladies group and was a proud member of Ozzy’s Posse. She never met a happy hour she didn’t like. While a resident of the Annandale Care Center, she was loved by the staff and other residents, she was even crowned Queen, which is a title that she never relinquished.

Nancy worked various jobs but the most memorable were driving a dump truck for Cassellius Redi-Mix, bartending at the Maple Lake Muni and working at Malco for 26 years.

Nancy is survived by her siblings Sue (Mike) Carlson of Brooklyn Park, Joe (Diane) Cassellius of Annandale, Margaret (Tim) Pummel of Littleton, Colorada, Julia Harding of Maple Lake, Mary Cassellius (Larry Grace) of Peoria, Arizona, Jacquie (Dave) Ahsenmacher of Annandale, and Cathy (Bob) Bergemann of Cokato, Father-in-law Ralph Petersen of Minneapolis, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts and cousins.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, David Petersen, parents Howard and Dolores (Harder) Cassellius, mother-in-law Patricia Petersen and brother-in-law Keith Harding.
