Zona Greene

Zona Greene, age 77, of Annandale, died from complications related to heart failure on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the St. Cloud Hospital with family at her side.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Alex Becker officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the church.

Zona Crabtree was born March 23, 1947, in Clinton, Arkansas to L.W. and Norma (Scarberry) Crabtree. She grew up in Chanute, Kansas, where she was a 1965 graduate of Chanute High School. In 1973, Zona moved to Annandale, Minnesota, where she raised her family. She worked for Gunnarson Ferrell Realty prior to her longtime career at Northern States Power/Xcel Energy.

Zona leaves behind a legacy of hard work and determination. As a single mother of four children, she never wavered in her dedication to providing for her loved ones. Her days were spent juggling two jobs, yet she always made time to cheer on her children and grandchildren in their various pursuits, be it in athletics, arts, or academics. Throughout her life, Zona found ultimate joy in the time spent with her family, relishing in their accomplishments, and supporting them wholeheartedly. Her quick wit and beautiful smile brought joy to all who knew her, and her caring nature touched the lives of many.

She is survived by her children, Kevin of Clearwater, Travis of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and Kristy of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Zachary Rissanen of Annandale and Maxwell (Hailey) Rissanen of South Haven; great-grandson, Silas; mother, Norma Crabtree of Chanute, Kansas; sister, Phyllis (John) Almond of Chanute, Kansas; nephews, Steve (Jamie) Craig and Brad (Amy) Almond; great-nephews, Colin Craig and Garrett Almond; and other dear family members and friends.

She was preceded in death and welcomed in heaven by her son, Kyle; father, L.W. Crabtree; and great-niece, Carlie Almond.
