Elizabeth “Betsy” Weidner, age 78, of Annandale, died peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Annandale Care Center.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana. Memorials are preferred to CentraCare Hospice or Adult Day Center Parkview, Buffalo, Minnesota.
Elizabeth Ann Weidner was born Oct. 21, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama to Carl and Julia (Morgan) Weidner. She grew up in Louisiana, and was a graduate from CE Byrd High School, in Shreveport. Betsy moved to Minnesota in 2008 to be closer to family.
Betsy was known for her skill in crewel needlework and embroidery, which she intricately crafted throughout her life. She had a deep love for animals and often found fulfillment in pet sitting for her friends and neighbors. Betsy was fortunate enough to travel extensively during her lifetime, visiting special places such as Hawaii and Canada. She had a passion for photography and journaling, capturing moments and memories to treasure for years to come. Those close to her will remember her as a fun and caring aunt.
She is survived by her niece and nephew-in-law, Lara (Dana) Kjaer of South Haven; her great-niece Julia Kjaer; and her great-nephew and godson, Arthur Kjaer. Betsy was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Julia Weidner and sister and brother-in-law Louise and Ronald Day.
