
Melvyn G. Stuhr, Jr., age 85, passed away on Friday Oct. 4, 2024 surrounded by his family.
The Wake will start at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, with Funeral Mass at 10:30., all at St. Timothy Church, Maple Lake, Minnesota.
Melvyn was born on Nov. 9, 1938 to Melvin and Emma Stuhr. He grew up in Maple Lake, Minnesota and graduated from Maple Lake High School.
He married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Rogers, on June 28, 1958. They raised five children in Maple Lake and lived there until 2015. At which time they moved to Clearwater.
Melvyn worked as a truck driver for his dad – Mel Stuhr Trucking. At one time they were trucking all over the United States. In 1965, Melvyn bought property just outside of Maple Lake.
Melvyn was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy; parents Melvin (Sr.) and Emma Stuhr; brother Curt Stuhr; granddaughter Elizabeth Albertson; and great granddaughter Adilaide Johnston.
He is survived by his children; Aimee (Tim) Kittock, M. Daniel (Betty Jo) Stuhr, Dennis (Dawn) Stuhr, Annette (Joe) Gunnerson, and Alison (Todd) Totz. He is survived by his grandchildren; Rita (Andy) Urlaub, Carter ( Allyssa) Kittock, Keegan (fiancé Leslie Sawatzke) Kittock, Ashley (Amon) Johnston, Daniel Stuhr, Samatha (James) Wilder, Kristi (fiancé Mike) Bremel, Chad (Alicia Buechler) Stuhr, Tyler (Kayla) Gunnerson, Whitney (Colton) Gettler, Dylan (Brittany Stroud) Gunnerson, Jessica (Mark) Pavlenko, and Travis (Jenna) Totz. He is survived by 27 great grandchildren with more on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
