Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 11390 Elliott Avenue NW, Maple Lake with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Ken Tatkenhorst will officiate. Burial will follow at Corinna Cemetery in Corinna Township.
Donald Edgar Mueller was born Sept. 11, 1942, to Edgar and Lucille (Moeller) Mueller in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Perryville High School in 1960. Don honorably served in the U.S. Army for two years. He then obtained an associate degree in Business. On Sept. 30, 1967, he married his beloved wife, Susan, and they shared nearly 52 years together, devoting their lives to their children, church, love of family and God. Don worked for JC Penney, primarily as a district manager for 34 years in Chicago, Illinois and Plymouth, Minnesota before retiring in 1997. Don and Sue then moved to Silver Creek Township in Minnesota.
Don loved life. He was always welcoming, fair-minded, generous, and caring. He leaves to us a better world for having lived a life full of love for family, friends, fun, church and God. And food. Dad loved to grow food and to fish. And he loved salt. Don’t forget to add plenty of salt.
Blessings to all who knew Don for your outpouring of caring and support. May you continue his legacy of genuine love for one another.
He is survived by his children, Sandra Jean of South Haven, Deborah (Paul) Szyperski of East Bethel, and Craig (Chealsie) Mueller of Buffalo; grandsons, DJ, Jacob, Alex, Max, Nolan, and Elijah; and great-grandchildren, Delilah, Mavrik, Declan, Opal, and Willow; sisters-in-law and brother-in-laws, Carol Barber, Charles (Jill) Meyer, and Donna Meyer; Craig’s mother-in-law, Jeanne May; a host of cousins, nephews and nieces. These are our family. Don had friends throughout his life too numerous to mention. He was truly grateful for us all.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sue; sister, Carole (Erlis) Ruehling; and brothers-in-law, Charlie Barber and Richard Meyer.
Don’s grandsons will serve as urn bearers. Music for the service will be provided by Dan and Cheryl Oie.
