Marlene M. Hartman-Hoffman, age 75, of Annandale, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, at the Annandale Care Center surrounded by her family.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale with Pastor Marc Well Nagel officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.
Marlene Marie Valley was born March 5, 1949, at home in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Lawrence and Cyrilla (Imholte) Valley. She grew up in St. Cloud, along with her four siblings. Marlene was a graduate of St. Cloud Cathedral High School. Marlene married Richard Hartman and together they had three sons. They later divorced. On Jan. 27, 1997, Marlene married Larry Hoffman at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. Over the years, Marlene worked various jobs including a stint at Malco and Minnesota Meat Masters, while always caring for her home.
Throughout her life, Marlene had a passion for tending to her garden, dancing, exploring new destinations, and mastering the art of culinary delights. She delighted in the thrill of gambling, often embarking on exciting casino trips, with Las Vegas holding a special place in her heart. Her mischievous yet endearing nature was evident in her favorite pastime of teasing Larry and savoring a good cigarette. Marlene reveled in the moments spent with her grandchildren, treasuring each interaction and creating lasting bonds.
She is survived by her husband, Larry of Annandale; son, Nathan (Jamie) Hartman of Annandale; stepchildren, Daniel (Susan) Hoffman of Norman, Oklahoma, Brian (Stephanie) Hoffman of Maple Lake, and Wade (Jessica) Hoffman of Annandale; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Victoria, Callie, Kayla, Brock and Justice Hartman; step-grandchildren, Hunter Grindeland, Megan, Sam, Ally, Justin, and Shayla Hoffman; siblings, Rudy Valley, Ray (Jan) Valley, Yvonne Gorman, and Vivian Ramler; and nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sons, Timothy and Jason Hartman.
