Lawrence Francis Kuefler was born on Jan. 14, 1941, in Galahad, Alberta, Canada, to Francis and Ida (Wegenast) Kuefler. As an infant, Larry moved with his family to the United States, settling in Michigan. The family moved several times before settling in Little Falls, where Larry attended school. In 1977, Larry was united in marriage to Janet “Jan” Eaton. They made their home on Maple Lake, before moving to Waukesha, Wisconsin while Larry continued to work for State Farm. They returned to Minnesota and lived in Oakdale and Brooklyn Park. Following Jan’s death in 2021, Larry moved to Annandale to be closer to family.

Larry’s life was a testament to his love for connection, adventure, and family. He dedicated many of his professional years to the automotive industry, having honed his skills as a mechanic and later a service writer at Anderson Cadillac. He then managed various body shops. His passion for cars went beyond his profession; it was a lifelong obsession that was featured in the stories he shared and the joy he found in every drive. A true enthusiast, Larry had an unquenchable thirst for speed and a profound appreciation for NASCAR, reveling in the energy and excitement of the races.

Outside of his work and passions for cars, Lawrence adored the open road. He cherished travel, especially to their home in Arizona, and the opportunity to explore the beauty of the world around him, often taking his RV on journeys that facilitated adventure and discovery. He enjoyed time at the cabin near Brainerd and relished the being in the presence of his family. He embraced life with organization and purpose; everything in his life had its place, reflecting the thoughtful nature he brought to all he undertook.

Larry is survived by his children, Steven (Christy) of Annandale and Stacy LeTourneau of Detroit Lakes; grandchildren, Kaytlin (Jim) Ahlquist, Zachary Kuefler (Jenna Frazier), Jason Mavencamp, Shalyn Jorgenson, Shantera LeTourneau, and Devin (Lydia) LeTourneau; great-grandchildren, Noah and Brooks Ahlquist, and Davianna LaTourneau; siblings, Shirley (Dave) Bailey, Connie Daniels, Linda (Wayne) Dahme, Patty Kuefler, and Mark Kuefler; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Greg (LouAnn) Eaton and Judy Lamp; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ida; wife, Jan; and brother-in-law, Frank Lamp.

Larry’s family will serve as urn bearers.
