Jerome Eldon Johnson (Jerry), a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and partner, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025.
Jerry’s life was defined by his deep commitment to his family and his unwavering kindness. Known for his warmth and the steady presence he provided to those he loved, Jerry was the cornerstone of his family. He shared his love and presence through actions that spoke greater than words.
Jerry was born in St. Paul, Minn., on January 22, 1932, but his family’s love of the outdoors and nature brought them to the place he loved most – Lake Sylvia in Annandale. From his early youth, he and his brothers had idyllic adventures that life on the lake offered. Cutting ice in winter and selling it in summertime, fishing, swimming, and experiencing the simple pleasures of growing up in beautiful surroundings, Jerry shared that existence and experience with his family and loved ones. Later in life he built his own home on the lake where his family could enjoy the same beauty.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Janet Orcutt Johnson. Jerry is survived by his children Lynn (Lelio) Patrizio and Lorie (Doyle) Herman, and his cherished grandson Lukas Patrizio. He will also be deeply missed by his loving partner of almost 20 years, Susan Hankerson, and her family.
No service will be held. In honor of Jerry’s life, the family suggests that donations be made to The Greater Lake Sylvia Association at https://www.lakesylvia.org/donations.
