Adeline Marie Elfmann was born on July 16, 1940, in Buffalo, Minn., to Robert and Laura (Gerhard) Elfmann and grew up on the family farm off County Road 6 near Annandale. After graduating from Annandale High School in 1958, she ventured to Minneapolis. On May 28, 1966, Adeline married James Lahti at Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale and made their home in Minneapolis. They moved to Brooklyn Park in 1974, where they created a nurturing home for their two children. Deeply rooted in her faith, Adeline was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale, growing up and since the 70’s, at Discover Church in Brooklyn Park. She found joy in the quilting group at church, creating beautiful pieces that symbolized love and warmth. Adeline enjoyed fishing, sewing, gardening, and canning. She delighted in spending weekends at the Lahti family farmstead near French Lake. Adeline will be remembered for her love of family, especially her cherished role as a grandmother and great-grandmother.
