Richard E. Mozingo, 64, of Annandale died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at the V.A. Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 10, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Annandale with the Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Burial was at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
Richard is survived by his wife Sally of Annandale; seven children, Donny Mozingo of Hawaii, Belinda (Jason) Carroll of Lawrenceville, Ga., Cecil (Melanie) Mozingo of Minneapolis, Sean (Kate) Bencker of South Haven, Norene Mozingo of Hinesville, Ga., Bobby Mozingo of Ludowici, Ga., and Ken (Melissa) Bencker of South St. Paul; 11 grandchildren Savannah, Mary, Amber, Autumn, Michael, Logan, Matthew, Kaylee, Carol, Megan and Lucy; and sister Clara (Lewis) Elliot of Greensburg, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Clara Mozingo, and brothers Alvin Mozingo and Robert Mozingo
Richard Earl Mozingo was born Nov. 7, 1950 in Greensburg, Indiana to Cecil and Clara (Daniels) Mozingo. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. On Dec. 27, 1986, Richard was united in marriage to Sally Kay Dietz at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Annandale. He enjoyed pencil drawing, classic cars, camping and spending time in the outdoors.
