Southbrook team wins first Cardinal Cup

The first Cardinal Cup Tournament was held Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 20 and 21 at the three Annandale golf courses: Whispering Pines, Albion Ridges and Southbrook.

An eight-member team from each of the three golf courses competed, playing six nine-hole matches over the two-day event.

Starting early Saturday morning, two rounds of two-man best-ball matches were held at Whispering Pines, followed by two rounds of two-man scramble matches at Albion Ridges. On Sunday, the tournament concluded with two rounds of single matches at Southbrook.

The matches were scored by points: one for winning a hole, one half point for a tie and zero points for a loss. The team earning the most points through all six matches was the champion.
