The North Wright County River Hawks dropped two games over the holiday break at a tournament in Centennial.
On Thursday, Dec. 26, they fell 3-1 to White Bear Lake, and they dropped a 6-2 decision to Centennial the following day.
Against White Bear Lake, the shots were even at 22-21 in favor of the Hawks, but they were down 2-0 in the third period before Rachel King found the back of the net with a short-handed effort.
In the next game against Centennial, Mackenzie Johnson scored to pull the Hawks into a 1-1 tie at the end of the first period.
Centennial netted three unanswered goals in the second period, however, before Marina Chapman, Annandale’s only representative on the team, scored on the power play in the third.
