■ April Fool’s Day was Tuesday, April 1.

■ The Annandale Area Chamber of Commerce was scheduled to host a social media and Facebook for business class from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, in the Annandale Elementary School computer lab. Brent Stromme was the instructor. Participants were to learn the basics of building a Facebook page for business and using it to engage customers.

■ The Wright County Tea Party was scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at the Buffalo Airport meeting room. Gubernatorial candidate Jeff Johnson planned to discuss his candidacy and answer questions. ■ CentraCare Heart and Vascular Center is providing Life Line Screening on Thursday, April 3, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale. This ultrasound screening can see inside your arteries to determine your risk of stroke. Up to 80 percent of stroke victims have no apparent warning signs or symptoms. Pre-registration is required. ■ The Annandale Improvement Club will meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, at Reichel’s Event Center. Following the business meeting, master gardener Gary Cobus will speak on the importance of honeybee pollinators, the problems they face today and how we can help. The public is welcome. ■ The Annandale Kiwanis Club, which has an emphasis on area children and youth, will meet at noon on Thursday, April 3, in the lower level of Southbrook. The public is invited. The club’s website can be found on Facebook at Annandale Minnesota Kiwanis Club.

■ The Annandale Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting an advanced social media and Facebook for business class from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, in the Annandale Elementary School computer lab. ■ The South Haven Sportsmen’s Club is hosting its 76th annual fish fry from 4:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 4, at the fire hall in South Haven. All are welcome. Tickets are for dining in or take out. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Proceeds go toward conservation projects. See the ad on page 6A.

■ J&J Marine will hold its annual spring open house Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5, at the marine dealer west of Annandale. There will be food and beverages, give-aways, door prizes and more. See the ad on page 1B.

■ The Wright County American Dairy Association will hold its annual Dairy Princess and Ambassador Coronation and Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo. The event begins with a social, and the program and lunch begin at noon. Tickets can be purchased at the door. The princess and ambassador program is sponsored by the dairy promotion checkoff, which helps build demand for dairy products.

■ The Annandale History Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 7, at the Senior Dining site in Annandale City Hall. Susan Keskey will speak on the history of buildings at Temperance Corners. All are welcome to join for this interesting and informative meeting. Keskey will also tell about Finn Fest 2014, which arrives on Saturday, May 24.

■ An Annandale High School jazz concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 7, in the AHS Performing Arts Center. There is no charge and the community is invited.

­■ If you or anyone you know is 60 or under and has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, you are welcome to join a newly forming group. The group meets the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Saron Lutheran Church in Big Lake. The next meeting is Tuesday, April 8. Specific topics will be scheduled along with open forum. Caregivers welcome. No children, please. Call Camille Johnson, 763-350-7401, for more information.

■ The Adoption Support Group meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the Monticello Community Center. ■ The next meeting of the Annandale Area Chamber of Commerce is at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at Reichel’s Catering and Event Center.

■ Help provide a memorable, safe and worry-free night for Annandale High School seniors on graduation night. The next meeting of the Annandale All-Night Graduation Party is Wednesday, April 9. ■ The Parent-Teacher Organization presents Beach Boogie Bop from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 11, in the Annandale Elementary School commons and gym. Enjoy a DJ and dance, games and crafts, and come dressed in beach attire – no swimsuits or beach towels, and shoes must remain on. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. There is a small cost for students. Concessions and meal available.

■ The Annandale Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 18th annual Annandale Area Business Expo from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at Annandale High School. Exhibits from more than 100 businesses and organizations, along with food and entertainment. See the ad on page 8A.

■ Enjoy a soothing morning and give yourself a lift with good vibrations through a harp performance by Katherine Strand from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Annandale Library on Saturday, April 12. Strand, a local musician, will play a variety of music suitable for all ages on her Celtic harp. Her performance is funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
