Noyes earns top award

Annandale Health & Community Services recognized and honored its employees at its annual appreciation banquet Friday, May 20, at the Maple Lake Legion.

Staff were treated to dinner, and prizes were given away throughout the night.

The 2011 Award of Excellence was presented to Sally Noyes, scheduler.

Noyes was nominated twice for the award by her fellow employees.

Staff had the following things to say about Sally:

– "As a scheduler, Sally is responsible for putting a big puzzle together."

– "Sally always has a smile and kind words even on the toughest days."

– "Our staff retention rate has increased steadily in the past years; this current year we’ve received four out of five stars for this on the Minnesota Nursing Home Report Card and I believe Sally’s performance in this customer service role has impacted our score."

Other nominees for the award included Crystal Rossman, medical records; Ron Buus, maintenance engineer; Jaime Miller, RN, and Joan Winkelman, RN, assistant director of nursing

The following employees were recognized for their length of service:

– Five years: Lisa Bahr, Gretchen Langbehn, Jamie Lee Curtis, Quanita Richardson, Stephanie Stolp, Jody Knaus, Rebecca Stute, Gail Vann, Melissa Clouthier and Debra Erickson.

– Ten years: Lori Anderson and Mary Sturman.

– Fifteen years: Mary Hagen.

In a special award, Ron Buus, maintenance engineer, received the Lamp Post Award. Buus was good naturedly teased about running into a lamp post while backing up the mower.

Linda Schmitz, activities director, and Scott Picken, maintenance engineer, presented him with the damaged lamp post.
