The seventh annual Sugar Lake 5K was held on Saturday, Sept. 3. The race included 62 participants, an increase of about 15 percent from the previous year, and raised over $1,150 for the Sugar Lake Association. Kirby Johnson, running with his dog Lottie on the left side of the photo here, took first place overall. Micah Yates took second place and Rick Berg finished in third. The first-place finisher among runners under age 14 was Sean Pickle. Businesses that donated to the event included All Things Good, Road ID, Lillian’s of Annandale, Laketown Dental, Miller’s Jewelry, Endurance Shop, HealthSource, Marketplace and Oak Realty.
