The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a free Citizen Law Enforcement Academy this spring. The five-weeks of classes will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 3, and each Tuesday from April 10 through May 1, and will be at the Wright County Law Enforcement Center in Buffalo.
Instruction will be a combination of lecture, question and answer, demonstration, participation and tours. The classes and subjects will be similar to those taught to new deputy sheriffs and police officer.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and because of the nature of the material presented, all applicants will be screened for criminal backgrounds. Questions regarding the program may also be addressed to Sergeant Brian Johnson by phone, 763-684-2366, or by e-mail, brianm.johnson@co.wright.mn.us. Visit the Wright County Sheriff’s website, www.co.wright.mn.us/department/sheriff/sherifff.asp, to download an application which is due Friday, March 16.
