At last week’s Wright County Board meeting, Commissioner Darek Vetsch appealed to the public to write to the Governor before May 19, objecting to a budget proposal that will hurt Health and Human Services (HHS) and increase local taxes.
On the table to fix the state’s projected $6 billion deficit is a proposal to cut HHS, but when the state makes cuts to these kinds of state-mandated programs, it’s really just shifting the burden of funding those programs to residents, Vetsch said.
