On July 24, the sun was shining and a light breeze was blowing in a large grassy area in front of Eastview Mobile Home Park – where the storm shelters are located. Laughter filled the space. Some hula hooped or created domes made of hula hoops to sit in, and others stood in a circle hitting a volleyball ball to one another. Some colored wooden ornaments in the likeness of various sports balls, placed beads on a string to make a bracelet, or colored a snap bracelet. Snacks, including oranges and applesauce, and water sat on a table nearby.
