James O. Caswell

James O. Caswell, 77, passed away on Friday, Aug. 6, 2004.   A Memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. Gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to donor’s choice.  He is survived by his children, James M. Caswell, David Caswell, Diana Caswell, Bruce (Sandra) Caswell, and Daniel Caswell; grandchildren, Courtney, Nicholas, Catherine and Jacob Caswell; sister-in-law, Terry Caswell; and niece and nephews.  Jim is preceded in death by his parents also of Annandale, and his brother, Alexis Caswell Jr. of Keene, New Hampshire.  Jim was born in Minneapolis, on May 4, 1927, to Alexis and Edythe Caswell. He graduated from St. Louis Park High School and attended the University of Minnesota. He was very proud of his service in the Army Air Corps at the end of World War II. He married his former wife, Gloria Rosholt in 1950. He lived in Annandale for 30 years and was the owner of Village Fix It. He fixed “anything that walked in the door,” and was delighted to talk about hunting with anyone who stopped by. In his earlier years he lived in Duluth, and then in the Lake Minnetonka area. He was an avid duck and deer hunter and loved riding horses. He was an enthusiastic member of Ducks Unlimited.
