Mildred "Millie" (Mahaffy) Roberts, 84, of Bloomington and Annandale, formerly of Richfield, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, in Buffalo. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Morris Nilsen Chapel, Richfield and at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 24, prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at Hope Presbyterian Church, Richfield. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m.at Fort Snelling. Memorials preferred to the penguin exhibit at the Como Park Zoo in memory of Bonnie Roberts-Miller or donor’s choice. She is survived by loving children George (Kathy), William (Jeanne), Barbara Johnson (Dean), and former son-in-law Scott Miller. She will be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren Alex, Mark, Alison, Kristen, Andrew, Matthew and Camille as well as nieces, nephews, brother-in-law Dean Roberts, sister-in-law Arlena Mahaffy, other relatives and many dear friends. Preceded in death by husband Charles, daughter Bonnie Roberts-Miller, sister Virginia Ohm, and brothers John, William, and Francis Mahaffy. She was born on May 15, 1923, to William and Fanny (Snoke) Mahaffy of Cherrydale, Va. Millie was a graduate of North High in Minneapolis, served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946, and worked as a photo typesetter for many years. She spent her summers on the shores of Lake John. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, bowling, as well as activities with her Richfield friends and those at the REALIFE Community in Bloomington. She was a caring person and friend to many.
