Irene T. Totz

Irene T. Totz, 95, of Clearwater died Friday, April 21, 2006, at St. Benedict’s Center in St. Cloud.  Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, April 25, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater. The Very Reverend Jacob Yali officiated. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Irene is survived by her children, Yvonne (Richard) Paulson of Kimball, Marlin (Ernadine) of St. Augusta, Bob (Lynne) of Clearwater and Bette Ann (Tom) Rudolph of St. Cloud; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerome (Dee) of Clearwater; sisters-in-law Alma Ergen of Annandale and Lucille Totz of St. Cloud; special friend, Bill Radke of Clear Lake; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Martin, on March 5, 1986, brothers, Eberhard “Sonny,” Wilfred, Robert, Edward and Sylvester “Shorty,” sisters, Frances Murphy, Clara Miller and an infant sister, and grandson, Bruce Paulson.  Irene was born on April 12, 1911, in St. Augusta to Arnold and Elizabeth (Wolters) Ergen. She married Martin D. Totz on July 19, 1933, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater. Irene was employed by TO Plastics in Clearwater for 20 years, retiring in 1973. She lived in Clearwater most of her life. Irene was a member of the Clearwater American Legion Auxiliary, St. Luke’s Parish and Christian Women. Irene enjoyed quilting, macramé, traveling and pinochle. Irene will be remembered as a devoted, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
