Robert J. Davidson, Jr.

Robert J. Davidson, Jr., 80, a na­tive of Annandale, Minnesota and a resident of Mobile, Alabama since 2004, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, in a local hospital. Mr. Davidson retired as a sales­man with Lyman Lumber Company in 1998 after 45 years of service. He was em­ployed as a school crossing guard with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office from 2005 until 2019. He was an avid golfer and wrote a book titled, “Stop Smoking, Start Living.”
Mr. Da­vidson was preceded in death by his son, Jon Robert David­son; his parents, Robert Jo­seph Davidson and Lempi Ma­rie Kotila Davidson; one brother, Larry Michael David­son; and one sister, Donna May Davidson.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia A. Thompson Davidson; one daughter, Anna (William Bran­don) Bird; two grandchildren, Sarah Grace Bird and William T. Davidson Bird; one great-grandson, Robert David Bird; three sisters, Carol Jean Bur­nett, Joy Marie Hentges, and Cheryl Faye Carter; his moth­er-in-law, Mary P. Thompson; his sisters-in-law, Susan C. (Steven) Feldman, and Karen Davidson; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives.
A memo­rial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Associa­tion in Robert’s memory.
