Mattie Alice Hutson

Mattie Alice Hutson, 98, of Annandale, Minnesota formerly of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin passed quietly on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Centennial Villa in Annandale, Minnesota. She was surrounded by loved ones, both physically and virtually during her final days. Mattie Alice Seaton was born in Allerton, Illinois to Jake and Edna Seaton on July 28, 1922, she was the middle of five girls. After graduating from high school, she worked a variety of jobs until meeting the love of her life, Harold Hutson. On May 5, 1946, Mattie and Harold “Dean” Hutson were married in Allerton, Illinois. They made their home in Allerton until 1957, when Dean was transferred to Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Mattie went to work for 3-M in later years. Dean and Mattie were blessed with four children, Harold, Darrell, Tari Lee and Deena. Everyone who knew Mattie could tell that her family was her “pride and joy”. Nothing was more important than Mattie’s family. After retiring, Dean and Mattie enjoyed summers in Annandale on Clearwater Lake, beginning in the early 80’s they both fell in love with the area and made many friends. After Dean passed away in 1993, Mattie continued to spend time in Annandale with family and friends. She will be remembered for her love of playing games and cards, especially Euchre and just being around people. Surviving Mattie are her children, Harold (Gloria) of Prairie du Chien, Darrell (Bonnie) of South Haven, Minnesota, and Deena (Tom) Igou of Lakeville, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Brent (Lisa), Heather Kamrowski, Casey (Sally, Heidi (Doug) Richard, Jason (Callie) Igou, Tyler (Joy) Igou and Chelsea (Matthew Sander; and seventeen, soon to be eighteen great-grandchildren. Nothing made Mattie prouder than family. Preceding Mattie to heaven were her parents, four sisters, husband, Dean; and infant daughter, Tari Lee. A public visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. A private family service will be held. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
