Ronald M. Peifer, age 76, of Annandale died Thursday, May 26, 2022, at his home. Private services will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in memory of Ron to Mayo Clinic – Mesothelioma Research at 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905. Ronald Michael Peifer was born Jan. 25, 1946, in St. Paul to Joseph and Henrietta (Esch) Peifer. Ron grew up in St. Paul, where he graduated from Johnson High School in 1964. Ron honorably served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy. Upon his discharge, Ron returned to the metro area. On Jan. 22, 1966, he was united in marriage to Dorene L. Trana in Roseville, and they made their home in Ramsey. Ron was employed as a sheetmetal worker for Standard Heating and AC in Minneapolis and St. Paul for 41 years. He retired in 2008. In 2006, Ron and Dorene built their dream home on their lake property in rural Annandale. Ron was an outdoor enthusiast and an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time at his home on Sugar Lake, surrounded by his family. Ron was extremely proud of his 1967 Mustang that they are the original owners of. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorene of Annandale; children, Jill Peifer of Eden Prairie, and Brian Peifer of Annandale; grandchildren, Cody Peifer, Colton Peifer, Brynlee Peifer; siblings, Joseph Peifer of St. Paul, Doreen (Ken) Rubbert of Lake Elmo, Donald Peifer of Annandale, and Richard Peifer of St. Paul; and other family members and friends.
