
Aloys C. Olson, age 97, of Annandale, died Monday, May 29, 2023, at her home on Lake Sylvia. A memorial service will be held ay 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at Buffalo Covenant Church in Buffalo with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Mark Stromberg will officiate. Burial will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorials are preferred to Buffalo Covenant Church, Minnehaha Academy, or True Friends. Aloys Carol Olson was born Dec. 15, 1925, in Minneapolis to O. Herbert and Ruth (Johnson) Johnson. She grew up in Minneapolis, graduating from Minnehaha Academy with the Class of 1943. She continued her education at Wheaton College, where she earned a degree in Home Economics. She worked for Minnegasco and Betty Crocker. On New Year’s Day of 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert Olson in Minneapolis. They lived in Golden Valley and Minneapolis until moving to Lake Sylvia in Annandale in 1987. Aloys was a member of Buffalo Covenant Church. She enjoyed knitting, traveling, and gardening. She was a wise, caring, and supportive friend, mother, and grandmother. Faith and family were central in Aloys’ life. She gave of her time and energy to many through her countless hours spent volunteering. Aloys is survived by her son and daughters, Tim (Marcie) Olson of Edwards, Colorado, Debbie (John) Casey of Manitou Springs, Colorado, and Ruth (Gerry) Bahe of Annandale; six grandchildren, Kristin, Ryan, Shane, Teig, Turi, and Kyle; four great-grandchildren, Riley, Liam, Declan, and River; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; sister, Betty Benson; and grandson, Nathan Bahe. Judy Johnson and Karen Wickman will provide the music for the service.
