Carol Blanche (Weber) Nelson

Carol Blanche (Weber) Nelson, 85, joined her Heavenly Father on Friday, Nov. 24, 2023.
She was Born on July 27, 1938 in Winsted, Minnesota, to Elizabeth (Guggemos) Weber and Daniel Weber. Carol loved her upbringing on the family farm along with her siblings Alma, Charles, Ruben, Mark, and Gary.
She graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School in Winsted and went on to marry Leon Lynch. This union produced the greatest joys in her life, her children, Daniel Lynch, Brian Lynch (Shelly Lynn), David Lynch (Michelle), Ann (Lynch) Horstmann (Charles), Richard Lynch (Lorie), Gerald Lynch, Patricia Lynch-Hamann (Daniel), Colleen Lynch (James), Soibhan Lynch, and Maureen (Lynch) McClanahan (Robert).
Carol loved being a mother and she was darned good at it. She instilled a solid work ethic, the Christian faith, and enough healthy dysfunction in her children to make them all interesting people.
Carol attended vocational college and became a machinist – a career she really didn’t enjoy but it did pay the bills. Later in life she worked as a home health aid. There she spread joy and happiness wherever she went.
In her free time Carol enjoyed puzzles, word finds, letter writing, a winning lottery ticket, Elvis, reading, quilting, thrifting, Elvis, traveling, baking, bingo, Dairy Queen, horses, and did I mention Elvis! Carol also loved dogs and cats and had many throughout her life.
Known for her quick wit, humor, and generous heart, Carol was a beloved community and church member who brought a smile to those around her. She especially enjoyed the company of her friends at the Cokato Apartments with whom she shared coffee and dessert parties. These gatherings were filled with laughter and gossip and brought out Carol’s mischievous side. Does anyone remember a community room chair that went missing?
Later in life, Carol was joined in wedded bliss to Alfred Nelson with whom she shared many happy years and thus added the wonderful Nelson children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to her family. They welcomed her with love and kindness. Carol adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They are as follows (buckle up for the list): Grandchildren – Matthew, Micah, Marissa, Miranda, Whitney, Jeralee, Rebecca, Tina, Hope, Maggie, Mason, April, Tony, Allison, Amy, Aaron, Chad, Claire, Brittany, Sam, Wyatt, and Emma. Her great grandchildren number 33 with three on the way and counting.
She remembered everyone’s birthday with a card and a $2 bill. This gesture, among many others, touched her family’s hearts and solidified her role as matriarch.
She is preceded in death by Daniel Lynch, Elizabeth Weber, Daniel Weber, Alma (Weber) Sybrant, Charles Weber, Rosemary Weber, Elvis Presley, Soibhan Lynch, Shelly Ann Lynch, Samuel Lynch, and Alfred Nelson. We lost an earthly angel but are comforted by the knowledge Heaven has gained a pure soul. When we look to the skies, we will feel your presence in the stars. Say “Hi” to Elvis for us!
