Marion Marie Jullie

Marion Marie Jullie, age 80, of Annandale passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the presence of loving family at her home in Gold Canyon, Arizona.
Marion was born in Litchfield, Minnesota on July 12, 1943 to Earl and Marie Hatrick. Shortly after graduating in 1961, she moved to Minneapolis, where she met her true love, Louis Jullie. The two were married on June 23, 1964 at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis. In 1973, they moved their family of five to Annandale.
Much of Marion’s career was spent at the Kimball Developmental Achievement Center, working with people with special needs, a perfect fit for her extraordinary kindness and supportive nature. A compassionate teacher, watchful, sincere and spirited, Marion brought joy, comfort and a place to belong. During the holidays, clients who were unable to go home, always had a place celebrating with the Jullie family. When Louie and Marion were empty nesters, and a client needed a place to live, there was no question that he would move in with them.
Marion loved planning holiday meals and celebrations. Whether it was the 4th of July in Annandale, birthdays at the cabin in Crosslake, or Christmas in Gold Canyon, you could count on a feast. She was a masterful decorator, and Christmas – her favorite holiday – was full of tasteful displays that glittered and glowed.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Marie Hatrick, father and mother-in-law, Louis and Marian Jullie, brothers-in law, Tom and Jim Jullie, sisters-in-law, Tess Jullie, MaryKay Larson, Mary Hatrick, and Joyce Jullie.
Marion is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Louis; daughter Cindy (Brennan “Buck”) McAlpin of Crosslake, sons Louie Jullie of Sauk Rapids and Jon (Vicky Granite) Jullie of Annandale; granddaughter Jullie (Mike) Hastings of Crosslake, grandson Brennan (Erin) McAlpin of Benson, great-grandchildren, Faith (Dimitri Munoz) Hastings and Ian Hastings of Hutchinson, Madison Hastings of St. Augusta, Zach and Owen Hastings of Crosslake, Colin Bauer, Kaylee and Kason McAlpin of Benson, and great-great granddaughter Alya Munoz of Hutchinson. She is also survived by her sister Shirley (Joe) Hamm of Buffalo, brother Paul Hatrick of Grove City, brother-in-law, Larry Larson of Markville, many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was a special person and will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held in July in Crosslake, Minnesota.
