Jay W. Bowers

Jay W. Bowers, age 64, of Annandale, died Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at his home.

A memorial service in celebration of Jay’s life will be held at 11  a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Jay Bowers was born Nov. 16, 1959, in Minneapolis to James and Jacqueline (Bartholomew) Bowers. He grew up in New Hope, graduating from Armstrong High School in Plymouth. After school, Jay served his country in the U.S. Army. He was married to Carolyn Lysdahl in 1980 and they made their home in Plymouth. She later preceded him in death. On Sept. 29, 1984, he was united in marriage to Jill Bowdin in Annandale. They lived in New Hope before moving to Annandale two weeks after their wedding. Jay owned and operated Central Minnesota Restoration and JB Contracting.

Jay was a true daredevil who lived life to the fullest, always up for an adventure. He had a passion for dining out and was known for his ability to build and fix anything, always lending a helping hand to those in need.

Above all else, Jay cherished his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he always put their happiness above all else. Jay will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will forever live on in our hearts. May he rest in peace.

He is survived by his wife, Jill Bowers; daughter, Jessica Bowers of Shakopee; son, Joshua (Monya) Bowers of Annandale; grandchildren, Alexis Kelzer and Jaxxtin Bowers; mother, Jacki Bowers of Plymouth; sister, Jeri Bowers of Cologne; mothers-in-law, Judy Bowdin and LaVerne Lysdahl; sister-in-law, Linda Lysdahl (Alan Burnett); and many other relatives and friends.

Jay was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Bowers; father, James Bowers; sister, Joy Bowers; and fathers-in-law, Jerry Bowdin and Don Lysdahl.
