Eloise A. Stram

Eloise A. Stram, age 90 of South Haven took the Lord and Savior’s hand and entered eternal rest, on Monday, July 1, 2024.

She was a faithful Christian and she believed when Jesus said “I am The way, The truth, and The life; no one comes to the Father but through me.”

A memorial service will be held 12:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel in Minneapolis with visitation beginning at 12 noon. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Eloise Arlene Anderson was born on June 10, 1934, in Nome, North Dakota to Martin and Clara (Nelson) Anderson. She was raised on a farm in Enderlin, North Dakota by her uncle and aunt, Leonard and Lydia Anderson. Eloise moved into town and lived with Lyla and Vic Schmidt. She graduated from Enderlin, North Dakota and moved to Minneapolis where she completed Beauty School, and she worked as a beautician. She married Lyle C. Stram of Lisbon, North Dakota on Nov. 27, 1955. They moved to Long Beach, California where David and Tess were born. In 1959 they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where their son, Gary was born.

They moved to Hopkins, North Dakota where Eloise was a Forms Designer for Honeywell, and they raised their children. Eloise and Lyle then built a home on Lake Marie in South Haven and lived there for 15 years until they moved to Paradise Park in Pharr, Texas. Eloise returned to South Haven where she has resided for the past 15 years.

Eloise enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Hobbies include sewing, bowling, reading, crossword puzzles, family history and she loved to spend hours and hours in her gardens.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, son David of South Haven, daughter, Tess (Dane) Stavlo of New Hope, and son, Gary of Robbinsdale; five grandchildren, Jeremiah (Brandi) Stavlo, Jesse Stavlo, and Jackie (Scott) Hartmann, Troy (Maggie) Stram, and Alesha (Tim) Dubay; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; her half-sister, Darlene Hartson; half-brothers, Bruce Slater, and Lynn Slater; sister-in-law, Betty Anderson and Janette Vivier.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lyle C. Stram; her brother, Merrill Anderson; her sister Glenda Anderson; half-sister, Marlene Hermanson; brothers-in-law, Maurice, Max, Frances, Clyde, Wayne, Richard, Ted, Lee, and Ove; and sisters-in-law Leona and Nancy.

Eloise’s grandchildren will serve as urn bearers.
