Cooper Richard Thurber, born on June 12, 2024, was taken from us far too soon on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024. In his short but impactful time with us, Cooper touched the hearts of all who met him.
Born with a critical congenital heart defect, Cooper faced more challenges in three months than many do in a lifetime, yet, he met every obstacle with strength and resilience. He maintained a sweet, constant smile that brightened every moment, even while recovering through tough surgeries and long hospital stays. Cooper was a fighter, determined to live every second of his life to the fullest.
Cooper loved nothing more than being snuggled and held by his family. After leaving the hospital, he was finally able to spend time at home with his big brothers, who adored him. They liked to entertain him with lots of laughter and affection. Cooper had a special love for his stuffed animals, with his chameleon being his absolute favorite.
The Thurber family extends their heartfelt thanks to the incredible team at the CVCC unit for the exceptional care they provided to Cooper during his journey. Their compassion and dedication will always be remembered.
He is survived by his loving parents, Chris and Lindsey; big brothers, Archer, Zander, and Porter; grandparents, Jon and Cindy Lensing, and Jim and Janet Thurber; great-grandparents, Cleone and Richard McCoy; aunts and uncles, Ryan (Lindsay) Thurber, Robin (Garett) Glazier, Eric Thurber, Aarik (Bridgette) Lensing, Jenna Lensing, and Austin (Brittany) Lensing; and many cousins and other loved ones.
The funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. with visitation beginning at 4 p.m. at Westbridge Church, 11600 Frankfort Parkway NE, St. Michael , Minnesota.
Arrangements are entrusted to The Peterson Chapel of St. Michael-Albertville.
