Janice M. Oien passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 in Tacoma, Washington.
Janice was born Oct. 12, 1955 in St.Cloud. After graduating high school in Kimball Minnesota, Janice and friends moved to western Montana to work for the U.S. Forest Service fire crews during the summer months while attending the University of Montana. Janice graduated as a physical therapist in 1981. In 1982 Janice moved to Ketchikan, Alaska with her husband, where she remained for most of her life.
Janice worked as a physical therapist for the local hospital, school district and started her own physical therapy business. Janice loved working in her church, working as a physical therapist and recreating in the outdoors with her family.
Janice is survived by her husband Jack of 44 years, children Jared Oien and Molly Oien all in Ketchikan, Alaska. She is survived by brothers Earl, Al, Leon and Byron Gehrke, along with many nieces and nephews, in the Kimball, Minnesota area and in Oregon and Idaho.
At Janice’s request there will be no services.
