Gladys P. Zeidler

Gladys P. Zeidler, age 99, loving mother of three, formerly of Annandale and Perham, peacefully passed away on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, at M Health Fairview Ridges in Burnsville, Minnesota.

A gathering in Celebration of the Life of Gladys will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Apple Valley Villa Chapel, Apple Valley, Minnesota with Chaplin Julie Ryan as officiant. Visitation begins one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale, Minnesota.

Gladys Paula Jahnke was born March 9, 1925, in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota to Otto and Laura (Jantzen) Jahnke. Gladys grew up in Parkers Prairie, graduating from high school in 1944. At Zion Lutheran Church, North Effington Township she was baptized, confirmed and later married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence Burgor, in 1946. Minnesota was their first home before moving to Oregon. Tragically, Lawrence passed away in 1953 after which she relocated to Minneapolis. Marvin Zeidler entered her life at a family picnic, and they were later married on May 16, 1959, in Minneapolis. They made their homestead in Annandale on a dairy and hog farm where they also started their family. In 1973, the dream of having a larger dairy operation brought them to Perham. In 1985, Gladys and Marvin hung up their milkers and returned to Annandale to enjoy their golden years. Retirement brought them to Burnsville and Apple Valley to be closer to family.

Short and sweet as Gladys was, she did not have a negative word to say about anyone (if she did, she kept it to herself). She will be lovingly remembered for her strong Christian faith, her quiet strength, cheerful outlook and countless smiles. A friend to all. While being a farmer’s wife was challenging, she was a devoted wife and mother to Joan and twins Karen and Karla. Since they had three girls and no boys, the girls were given the nicknames Charlie, Frank and John. When away from the barn, Gladys enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and baking, and there was always a dessert on the table. Without a doubt she loved life, her girls, grandkids, and Jolly Time popcorn!  In later years, Gladys read the Minneapolis Star Tribune daily, did word puzzles and followed the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. The family wishes to extend deep appreciation to the Apple Valley Villa Assisted Living staff, for the love and support over the past 16 years.

Gladys is survived by her daughters, Joan (Peter) Bliss of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Karen (Dennis) Kvarfordt and Karla (James) Arrington, both of Pocatello, Idaho; grandchildren, Jared, Emily and Lauren Bliss, Aaron and Elijah Kvarfordt.

Gladys follows her parents, Otto and Laura Jahnke; husbands, Lawrence Burgor and Marvin Zeidler; stepson, Barry Zeidler; siblings, LouAnn Husfeldt, Orvin, Gilmore, and Donald Jahnke.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hour Ministries or others.

Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
