Lorraine Catherine Tellers was born on February 24, 1928, in Kimball, Minnesota, a twin and the youngest of six girls to Anton and Theresa (Adolph) Tellers. Lorraine grew up on the family farm and helped support the family on the farm in addition to working as a waitress. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at St. Anne Catholic Church in Kimball.
On Oct. 15, 1949, Lorraine married Russel Miller in Kimball. She worked a variety of jobs and spent 17 years at Dahlberg Electronics in Golden Valley, retiring in 1986. Lorraine lived most of her adult life in the Annandale area, except when her and Russel lived in Golden Valley from 1969-1986.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lorraine was the heart of her family. She was a woman of profound faith and dedicated herself to her church and community through countless hours of volunteering. Whether in the garden meticulously tending to her vegetables, baking delicious treats, or playing a competitive game of cards, Lorraine approached life with direction and determination. She was a highlight of family gatherings, with laughter and stories shared around the table. She usually found great joy in dancing with Russel, bowling with friends, and watching the Minnesota Twins. Her quick wit and playful nature endeared her to so many. Lorraine also had a gift to use words creatively such as smidge, schupic, and dibble. A true pillar of strength, Lorraine’s life was a testament to hard work and dedication. Through the years, she nurtured not just her garden, but also the souls of those around her, planting seeds of love wherever she went.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Pamela Lantto of Annandale; son-in-law, Les Nelson of Annandale; grandchildren, Amy (John) Lillehaug of Maple Lake, Kelly (Ryan) McKnight of St. Francis, Charlene (Ryan) Streifel of Lakeville, and Joshua (Elizabeth) Lantto of Maple Grove; great-grandchildren, Abigail (Cameron) Howard, Emma and Sara Lillehaug, Ava McKnight, Natalie and Jillian Streifel, Lauren and Gracelyn Lantto; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russel; daughter, Gloria Nelson; and son-in-law, Timothy Lantto.
