
Lloyd R. Lehse, age 89, of Fairhaven, died Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Pleasant Cottage of the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Todd Nelsen will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairhaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Annandale.
Lloyd Raymond Lehse was born on October 27, 1935, at home in Menahga, Minn., to John and Mabel (Oleson) Lehse. He grew up in Menahga, where he graduated from Menahga High School, laying the foundation for a life characterized by service, hard work and a deep love for family.
Lloyd proudly served his country in the United States Navy, including time stationed at Guantanamo Bay and throughout the mainland. His skills and keen eye were exemplified as a sharpshooter on the Navy Shooting Team. On August 1, 1964, he married the love of his life, Alois Klegstad, at Berea Lutheran Church in Richfield. They started their family in Richfield, where they created a home filled with laughter and love. In 1978, they moved to their current home in Fairhaven.
Lloyd was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale and a former member of Berea Lutheran Church in Richfield and Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven. He found joy in hunting, fishing, woodworking and birdwatching. He shared his ingenuity through his many projects, always finding solutions for improving tasks with the gadgets he designed and built. He also cherished moments spent at the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion in Rollag.
After a commendable career that spanned over three decades at the Ford Motor Company, Twin Cities Assembly Plant in St. Paul, Lloyd dedicated 20 years as the crew leader at Fuller Lake Rest Area. His work embodied his commitment and reliability until his retirement in 2022. His dedication to both his family and his work reflected his character – a man of integrity and loyalty.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Alois Lehse; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Cheri Lehse of South Haven; grandsons, Parker and Conner; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marvin Klegstad, Karen Christenson and Beverly Klegstad; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mabel; son, Kevin; siblings, Harold (Helen) Lehse, Howard (Lorna) Lehse, Robert (Eleanor) Lehse, Doris (Julian) Smith and Donald Lehse; and brothers-in-law, Dean, Owen and Ronald Klegstad.
