Marshall S. Werner, 92, of South Haven died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Kimball Church of Christ with Pastor Kevin White officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Union Covenant Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, Wednesday, at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Gideons International.
He is survived by his sons, Rollie (Mary) Werner of Annandale and Randy (Kim) Werner of South Haven; stepsons Dean (Myrna) Kaskinen of Kimball and Duane Kaskinen of Lincoln, Nebraska; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Jean Levernier of Hopkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ella; wife, Lorraine; stepdaughter, Diane Taraldson; brothers, Paul and Edmond Werner; and sister, Grace Olson.
Marshall Samuel Werner was born May 21, 1924, in Kingston to Carl and Ella (Eck) Werner. He grew up and attended school in Kimball. Marshall served his country in the U.S. Army as a tank gunner with the Thunderbolts in the European Campaign of World War II. On April 30, 1961, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Olson in Clear Lake, Iowa. Together, they owned and operated Riverview Bait Shop in South Haven. Marshall was a member of the Kimball American Legion Post No. 261 and the Kimball Church of Christ. He enjoyed his geese, chickens, dogs, fishing, hunting, trapping, gardening, and cutting and splitting wood.

Hello this is Evelyn Foley the great grandkid. He was a great guy when I knew him. I remember his dog and the dog would always jump on us!
