In case you didn’t know it, the John Birch Society is being used to push its original objectives to abolish income tax, repeal social security and most government business. The ultraconservative society was funded later by the original oil-man, "Mr. Koch," father of the billionaires "Brothers Koch," who are now giving millions of dollars to any group attacking the new health care programs. A funded group went to Alaska to convince people to sign a pledge not to take part in the health care plan. About 47 million Americans lacked health coverage and the working poor are now able to enroll in the Medicaid part of the Affordable Care Act. These people are not lazy or stupid, according to the GOP. They are uneducated, children or disabled.
In Minnesota we have guest editorialists that attack at every angle to discredit the Affordable Care Act, even conservative columnists who can afford their own health care. They even use poll numbers to run down President Obama. The farm program is stalled because for the House GOP it contains food stamps. Congressman Collin Peterson of Minnesota states that 80 percent of food stamps are for children, old people with limited income, and the disabled who can’t work. Yet the GOP doesn’t complain about the multi-million dollar bonuses for health CEOs. The lack of a fair farm program gives the government poor poll numbers, so do farm subsidiaries going to billionaires.
Poll people without health care, poll people that want an immigration plan or repaired roads and bridges. Poll numbers that are low tell us that the GOP is actually winning against President Obama. The GOP in Minnesota wants to restrict voting and balance the budget by using 20 years of tobacco funds. Where is the money to fix a small piece of Interstate 94 to come from – maybe
