The Cardinals posted their highest score of the season, approaching their overall goal of 130 points, by outpacing Litchfield 128.05 to 125.55 later in the week.

"Us coaches are so proud of the girls (for) getting their season high on Thursday," said head coach Danielle Leinonen.

The vault and floor have typically been Annandale’s strongest events, while the beam has been inconsistent. The uneven bars have been the team’s biggest obstacle so far this year, but at Litchfield the Cardinals posted a collective score of 30.775 on the bars.

"I am really proud how bars went, because normally it holds us back," said Leinonen.

The beam was Annandale’s worst event at the meet, with a total team score of 27.925.

"The beam was rough, but I couldn’t be happier for the team," said Leinonen. "The girls worked great individually and as a team."
