Annandale School District voters turned down a $750 per pupil unit operating levy referendum Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the General Election.
Voters also elected Dillon Dougherty and Jenna Witherbee to four-year seats. Voters re-elected Katie Jones to the remaining four-year seat.
Incumbent Jon Scheer and challenger Andrew Chi did not win seats.
Dougherty was the top vote-getter with 3,082 votes, Witherbee captured 3,025 votes, and Jones had 2,985 votes, all within less than 1% of each other.
Scheer had 2,229 votes and Chi had 2,058.
The new school board terms begin in January.
The operating levy referendum was defeated 3,779-3,211 with 54.06% of voters opposing the measure.
City of Annandale races were uncontested. Mayor Shelly Jonas and councilors Matthew Wuollet and JT Grundy all won re-election.
