Pearl Sylvia Nystrom

Pearl Sylvia Nystrom, 87, of Litchfield, died on Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 28 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, with Art Wendroth officiating. Interment followed at Ostmark Lutheran Cemetery in Forest City Township.
Survived by daughter, Pamela Kiehne of Cannon Falls, and son, Byron (Susan) Nystrom of Long Prairies, five grandchildren, Kristine, Tracy, Jason, Carrie and Jennifer, eight grandchildren and brother, Milton Werner of St. Cloud.
Preceded in death by her husband, her parents and sister, Melba Juenemann.
She was born on June 6, 1914 in South Haven, the daughter of Gust and Elizabeth (Washburn ) Werner. She grew up in South Haven, attending elementary school and later graduating from Annandale High School in 1932. While growing up and after graduating, she helped in her father’s store. Upon his retirement in the 1940s, she moved to Minneapolis. She worked at Powers and Donaldsons Department Stores. She married Earl Nystrom on April 23, 1949 in Litchfield. After her marriage, she was a homemaker. They farmed in Kingston Township until her husband’s death on November 1, 1966. She moved to Litchfield in 1973. She moved to Bethany Home in 1995 and later to the Emmanuel Home. Pearl enjoyed reading and gathering with her fellow brothers and sisters at the Litchfield Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Pallbearers: Nephews, Greg Juenemann, John Munson, Roger Munson, Ralph Nystrom and Daniel Rohrbeck and friend, Tom Stoner.
